Morgan Dwyer
Morgan Dwyer Morgan’s research sits at the intersection of technology, management, and policy. Her PhD dissertation focused on the government’s acquisition of complex system and she integrated technical, organizational, and political perspectives to explain how and why costs grow on joint (i.e., interagency, inter-service) acquisition programs. Morgan holds a B.S. in Astronomy & Physics from Yale, a M.S. in Aeronautics & Astronautics from Stanford, and a PhD in Technology, Management, and Policy from MIT. She previously worked in the national security community and is based in Washington, DC.

Aleix Paris i Bordas
Aleix Paris i Bordas Aleix was a visiting student from Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech carrying out his Final Thesis at MIT AeroAstro. He is currently pursuing two BS simultaneously in Aerospace Engineering and Computer Science, under the CFIS program at UPC. His research focuses on dynamic resource management (DRM) algorithms for communication satellites. His interest in the aerospace sector goes beyond the merely theoretical aspect as he combined his studies with the Private Pilot License training.

Alexander Rudat
Alexander Rudat Alexander is an Engineering Specialist with the Aerospace Corporation. Alexander received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology prior to joining the Systems Architecting Group at M.I.T. While at Georgia Tech, he conducted undergraduate research in the QUEST laboratory in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, studying the use of ultrasonic waves for detecting crack propagation in metals. He also served as part of the Flight Test Engineering Group at Honda Aircraft Company in 2010. Alexander’s Masters thesis focused on codifying a methodology for the development of architecture-level quantitative models for the evaluation of complex systems. This framework is also intended to be integrated into established business practices by linking the processes with interconnected steps in business methods such as Lean, Six Sigma, Concurrent Engineering, and Spiral Models. He is also heavily involved in the creation of models for the evaluation of future human space exploration infrastructures beyond low-Earth orbit.

Daniel Selva
Daniel Selva Prof. Daniel Selva is an Assistant Professor at Texas A & M. Daniel Selva received a PhD in Space Systems from MIT in 2012, where he is currently a post-doctoral associate. His research interests focus on the application of combinatorial optimization and artificial intelligence techniques to space systems engineering and architecture, in particular in the context of Earth observation missions. For his doctoral research, Dr. Selva developed the first knowledge-based system created to support the system architecture phase of Earth observing missions and programs. More recently, Dr. Selva has started the development of a second expert system applied to space communication and navigation infrastructure. Prior to MIT, Dr. Selva worked for four years in Kourou (French Guiana) as a member of the Ariane 5 Launch team, where he was an operational engineer specializing in the guidance, navigation and control subsystem, and the avionics. Daniel has a dual background in electrical engineering and aeronautical engineering, with MS degrees from Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, and Supaero in Toulouse, France. He is a 2007 la Caixa fellow, and received the Nortel Networks prize for academic excellence in 2002.

Matthew Silver
Matthew Silver Dr. Matthew Silver is the CEO of Cambrian Innovation, which he founded in 2006. Prior to co-founding Cambrian, Matt co-founded Intelligent Action Inc., an MIT spin-out providing strategic decision-making capabilities based on patent pending simulation algorithms that he developed during his Master’s work at MIT. He has published over 15 academic and conference publications on engineering design and innovation strategy and is co-inventor on six patent applications. Matt received a Doctorate in Engineering Systems and two Master’s in Astronautical Engineering and Technology and Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received a Bachelor’s in Astrophysics and Art History, cum laude and with honors, from Williams College in 2001.

Jonas Urbonas
Jonas Urbonas Jonas Urbonas completed the System Design and Management (SDM) program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He holds both a bachelor’s degree and a PhD from the University of Surrey in Guildford, UK, with a specialization in the design and multiphysics characterization of high-power radio frequency (RF) and microwave transistors and power amplifiers.
Dr. Urbonas has acquired extensive experience across various engineering and leadership roles in several high-tech organizations. Since 2019, he has been with Maury Microwave Corp., initially joining as a senior product engineer. In 2021, he assumed the position of Research and Development (R&D) Engineering Manager, where he led a multidisciplinary team dedicated to developing new, state-of-the-art RF and microwave device characterization components, systems, and applications. In 2023, he joined dBm Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Maury Microwave, as General Manager, where he specialized in technologies for emulating satellite communications channel impairments and led the development of next-generation channel emulation products and systems. In January 2025, he was appointed Director of R&D Engineering at Maury Microwave Corp., where he oversees multiple engineering teams in the development of best-in-class RF and microwave device characterization systems.
Dr. Urbonas has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications across various IEEE journals and conferences and is a member of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology, Communications, and Solid-State Circuits societies. He also serves as a young professional member of the IEEE MTT-29 Microwave Aerospace Systems Committee. In 2019, he received the ARFTG Roger Pollard Student Fellowship in Microwave Measurements and received Best Paper Awards at the 91st, 92nd, and 96th ARFTG Microwave Measurement Conferences.
At the System Architecture Group, Jonas worked with Dr. Bruce Cameron on defining and analyzing the performance of embedded software-defined radio architectures, with an emphasis on their application in 6G communication systems.
